The Istanbul Education and Culture Foundation (İSTEK) established Yeditepe University as a foundation university in 1996, under Law No. 4142, within the framework of the Higher Education Law. It possesses financial and administrative autonomy, as well as public legal entity status. Bedrettin Dalan is the founder.
Yeditepe University specifically develops its education for the information age, utilizing modern curricula and applications. The "26 August Campus" is the primary campus of our institution.The Basic Medical Sciences Laboratories, the Clinical and Professional Skills Laboratory, and other educational areas, as well as the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Basic Medical Sciences, are all located on the campus. Additionally, the first three years of education take place within the classrooms.Furthermore, the Yeditepe University Information Center, in the Rectorate building on campus, endeavors to offer the highest quality of service to academic and administrative personnel, students, and researchers by utilizing its available resources. The Information Center's collection of books related to medicine and health sciences is available to users on open shelves in accordance with the NLM (National Library of Medicine) classification system. In addition to providing wireless internet (Wi-Fi) throughout, the Information Center is supported by internet access at 80 points. You can access the Information Center seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
Yeditepe University Hospitals have been providing services since August 26, 2005, and their infrastructure boasts sophisticated technology and intelligent systems. The Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Medical Education Programs (TEPDAD) National Medical Education Accreditation Board (UTEAK) has granted Full Accreditation Status to the Medical Education Programs of Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine until 2020. A re-accreditation application was submitted to TEPDAD in 2019. Our faculty was reaccredited for an additional six years until 2026 as a result of the YÜTF Undergraduate Medical Education Program Self-Evaluation Report (2019), the opinion of the UTEAK Visit Team, and the final decision of UTEAK.
