In the first three years of our education programme, clinical skills practices are carried out in order to develop students' learning-by-doing skills with a humanistic approach. The general aim of the "Introduction to Clinical Practice (ICP)" programme is to increase the self-confidence of our students and to ensure patient satisfaction before they encounter patients in real clinical settings during the internship period.
Training on invasive and non-invasive clinical procedures, which are defined as communication skills and professional skills, is carried out in our Clinical and Professional Skills Laboratory and our exams (Objective Structured Clinical Exam-OSCE) are held in our laboratories. ICP, which is a 3-year block programme in our faculty, is carried out in the first three semesters as MED102 ICP I, MED202 ICP II MED302 ICP III as a separate course independent from the committee courses, but integrated into the course boards.
In May 2016, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of our laboratory, a ceremony was held with the participation of the university senior management, the dean and faculty members who supported the programme and our simulated patients, and certificates of appreciation were given to our faculty members for their contributions.
