Re-accreditation Process: In February 2019, Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine (YÜTF) submitted an application to The Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Medical Education Programs (TEPDAD) for re-accreditation by its board UTEAK. As a result of the UTEAK meeting held in December, “Self-Evaluation Report of YÜTF Undergraduate Medical Education Program-2019” (ÖDR-2019) was approved and a decision was made to visit our faculty and hospitals.
Reaccreditation Site Visit: “UTEAK External Evaluation Visiting Team” visits the learning environments of YÜTF for 4 days and interviews with educational management, faculty members, students and administrative staff. At the end of the visit, the visiting team presents its observations and evaluation of our faculty to UTEAK.
The Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Medical Education Programs (TEPDAD): The main purpose of TEPDAD is accreditation for medical education programs, through evaluation and informational activities, in Turkey and other parts of the world, and to contribute in enhancing the quality of medical education. TEPDAD has been authorized by "Higher Education Quality Council" (YÖKAK) in Turkey for the accreditation of undergraduate medical education programs and recognized by World Medical Education Federation as an Accreditation Agency. The National Medical Education Accreditation Committee (UTEAK): A TEPDAD committee (National and International) that carries out the necessary work for the evaluation and accreditation of medical education programs.
Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine (YÜTF) was accredited in 2014 by TEPDAD for six years.
In addition, YÜTF was subjected to an interim external evaluation process by UTEAK in 2016. In 2017, 2018 and 2019, the annual self-evaluation reports were prepared and submitted to UTEAK. YÜTF has gone through all these processes successfully.
